I had the honor of knowing Nancy and growing up with her and the wonderful and loving Neesen family. She was an amazing and giving person and always remember her smile and her love for her family. Sending love and condolences to the Barrett and Neesen families,
Vickie, Rob, Madie and Jullian Apadula Marek

The first person I met when we moved onto Dolores Drive in July of 1980 was Nancy Barrett. She was sitting on her driveway in a lawn chair with a can of bug spray next to her. After a couple of sprays at an annoying wasp, she gave me a big smile and welcomed us to the neighborhood. It was the start of a lifelong, treasured friendship. We were neighbors and I made many visits across the street to visit her and Paul. And each time Nancy gave me that same sweet smile, opened the door, and enthusiastically welcomed me into her home, where we would sit at the kitchen table and talk about our families, and what was going on with our lives. The loving memory of those spontaneous visits makes me smile as I mourn the loss of one of my most favorite people.

Last October Dolores Krebs and I had lunch with Nancy. Although we kept in touch by text, get togethers were special and rare. We were at the restaurant for four hours! When it was time to leave Nancy shared the news about her health condition. It was just like her to be focused on others and wait until we were headed home to tell us.
Nancy was a wonderful friend. She was a fantastic, adventurous cook and planned meals around everyone’s diet preferences and restrictions. She was devoted to her immediate and extended family and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. I admired her very much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Rachel, Miranda, Hilary and Mike at his time. Your mother will live on in your hearts.

Nancy was our son’s nursery school teacher and we still remember his days at Creative Beginnings very fondly. Nancy lived right across the street and although we didn’t see her often, each time we did it was a pleasure to chat with her. She was truly a kind person; we send her family our deepest sympathy at this sad time. Joyce and Tim Koert
