Obituary of Eleanore M. Donlin

Eleanore M. (Cassel) Donlin, age 87 of Trooper, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at home with her loving family at her side. Wife of Hugh J. Donlin. She was born in Norristown on January 23, 1925, daughter of the late Julia (Maguire) Cassel. She was a very active member of Visitation BVM RC Church of Trooper, where she was also a member of the Women's Guild where she was Past President as well as the Treasure for the guild for 21 years. Eleanore was a graduate of Norristown Area High School and also attended Norristown Business School. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother and had worked at Ehret Magnesia Manufacturing Co of Valley Forge where she was a secretary and in charge of payroll and personnel records for around 500 employees. She also volunteered with the Girl Scouts and was a Cookie Chairperson for many years. Eleanore enjoyed reading, dancing, playing cards and gardening. In addition to her husband, Eleanore is survived by her daughters, Gloria Rivenburg of Hatfield, Edna-Marie Eckert of Sarasota, FL, Marybeth Hucker of Hatboro, Eileen Strayline of Audubon, Margaret Donaghey of West Chester, and Monica Johnson of Kinzer, PA; a sister, Mary Knapp of York, PA; 16 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and four nieces and a nephews. Along with her mother she was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Donlin. Her Funeral mass will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. from the Lower Church at Visitation BVM RC Church, 196 North Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Friends may call Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at the Lower Church at Visitation. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton.
