Obituary of Albert M. Hodkinson

Albert M. “Al” Hodkinson, 63, of North Cape May and formerly of Fort Washington, PA passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Al grew up in Roxborough, PA and graduated from Roxborough High School where he was a standout goalie for the soccer team.  He later graduated from Lockhaven University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. While in college he also played soccer and continued to excel at the goalie position. After graduation, he taught at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Elementary School in Roxborough for a few years. After these few years, Al founded his own painting business, “Al Hodkinson Fine Painting & Wallpapering.” Al worked hard and his business was successful as he served the Fort Washington community and the surrounding areas. In 2017 he moved to the Cape May area where he continued his painting business.

Al enjoyed many things in his life, to mention a few; soccer, golf, sports in general, traveling, being by the ocean, good food, friends, family and of course his beloved black lab, Sasha.

He is predeceased by his mother, Enid Hodkinson and his son, Nigel Hodkinson. Al is dearly missed and forever loved by his family which includes his father, Albert Hodkinson; wife, Carol Hodkinson; his son, Trevor Hodkinson; two sisters, Jackie Hopkins and Margie (and Jerry) Meremonte; two brothers, Brian (and Lisa) Hodkinson and David (and Joan) Hodkinson; his former spouse, Ann Hodkinson; as well as many nieces, nephews and one grandnephew.

To celebrate and honor Al’s life, a memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023  at 11:00AM at Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette St., Conshohocken, PA where friends will be received from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.

Interment is private and at a later date.
