Obituary of Anthony J. Oliveri, Sr.

Anthony J. Oliveri Sr., age 82, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away from complications after pancreatic cancer surgery on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at 12:44 PM. His family surrounded him during his final moments.

Anthony J. Oliveri Sr. was born in Partinico, Sicily, on May 26, 1941, the son of Raffaele Oliveri and Pearl Biando. He is the brother of Frank Oliveri, Louise Ebbinghaus, and Mary Oliveri.

Anthony J. Oliveri Sr. lived the previous twenty-eight years in the Pottstown area but spent most of his life in California after an upbringing in New York. Anthony J. Oliveri Sr. is a United States Air Force veteran, where he served as an aircraft mechanic. After his military service, his passion for the automotive field allowed him to become a renowned mechanic for both Buick and Ford. He eventually left the wrenches behind and worked his way to the service manager position for Swanson Ford in California.

As a genuinely devoted man to his family, Anthony J. Oliveri Sr. ended his automotive career and followed his children to Pottstown, Pennsylvania, in 1995. He then began working on one of his other passions, cooking, an area where he truly flourished. Anyone with the privilege to taste anything he created will attest that the man was a culinary genius who relished seeing others enjoy his culinary creations. Cooking made Anthony very happy, but what made him smile most was seeing his family together for cookouts or large family functions where everyone enjoyed being together. Anthony always sacrificed for his family to ensure those he loved about were always cared for.

Anthony J. Oliveri Sr. was a lifelong New Tork Yankees fan and even earned himself a tryout for their organization. Only after a freak accident before tryouts did he get put on the path for which he is known. A lover of oldies and country western music, Anthony could often be seen cruising around, listening to Fats Domino, the Beach Boys, Conway Twitty, and George Straight.

Anthony J. Oliveri Sr’s lineage is left behind through his surviving children, Anthony J. Oliveri Jr (Connie) and John Oliveri (Ashleigh). His grandchildren include Vanessa, Brittany, Sal, Joseph, Michael, and Annalisa, and he is great-grandfather to Allessandra, Anthony, Ariana, Vincent, Gianna, and Cylas. He was preceded in death by his daughter Ida Deluca, grandson Justin Oliveri, sisters Louise Ebbinghaus and Mary Oliveri, grandson-in-law Troy Landis, and lifelong friend and canine companion Recon.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426.  Fr. Paul Brandt will officiate.

Interment will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories,Limerick, PA.
