Obituary of Carole Ann Hensel

Carole Ann Hensel, age 86, formerly of Avalon, NJ passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023.

She was born in Medford, MA on January 3, 1937, the daughter of the late John Francis and Mary (Donahue) Noonan.   

Carole was a parishioner of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish – Maris Stella Church of Avalon, NJ.  She was a gifted artist.  Carole served on the Board for an Abused Women Shelter (CARA) and for the building of a new library in Avalon, NJ.  She was a member of the Avalon garden club,  enjoyed fishing and loved a good card game.  "Gram" especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

On April 27,1957 She married the love of her life, the late Cornelius L. Hensel.

  

She is survived by five children and their spouses, Roy & Vickie Hensel, Cheryl & John Gamber, Vicki & Eric Lascomb,  John & Sita Hensel and Julia Morgan;

brother, John Noonan;

and her grandchildren, Chelsea, David, Michael, Neil, Jessica, Carly, Tim, Kevin, and Zack. 

 

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Joanie Clow; brother, Robert Noonan; and granddaughter, Carolynn Lascomb.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 10:30 AM from Maris Stella Church, 252 50th Street, Avalon, NJ.  Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Friday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Church.

Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.

 

A reception for family and friends will follow at the Rock n' Chair, 2409 Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ 08202.
