George has been living in Conshohocken since 1986, formerly of King of Prussia and Langhorne. He was a member of the former St. Mary Catholic Church of Conshohocken. George was a proud graduate of LaSalle University. He taught English and ran the chess club at Archbishop Carroll and Lansdale Catholic High Schools.

Obituary of George R. Marker

George R. Marker, 73, of Conshohocken, PA, passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2016. He was born in Philadelphia on October 6, 1942. George has been living in Conshohocken since 1986, formerly of King of Prussia and Langhorne, Pa. He was a member of the former St. Mary Catholic Church of Conshohocken. George was a proud graduate of LaSalle University. He taught English and ran the chess club and Forensic Club at Archbishop Carroll and later taught English at Lansdale Catholic High Schools. He honorably served the U.S. Coast Guard as a member of the Reserve. George is the son of the late Dr. Richard and Mary Margaret (Devennie) Marker. Survivors include his wife, Patricia (McGurn ) Marker of Conshohocken, two sons, Dr. Sean Marker of Boston, MA, and Paul Marker of Lansdale, PA, sister, Donna ( & James ) Higgins of Langhorne, PA, as well as two grandchildren, and nieces & nephews. His Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 10:30 AM from St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, Pa 19428. Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:30 to10:30 AM at the Church. Interment will take place in St. Matthew's Cemetery.
