We met Jack and Rita in the early days of Harbor Lakes. We were living in Switzerland then and would vacation there at Christmas and over the long summer school break. Despite the short times spent there, we came to know Jack and Rita well, enjoying fond, fun times around the pool. We were the ‘Young’ kids on the block back then, and loved listening to the hilarious antics and jokes of Jack and his buddies Morgan, Jack Rogers, Arthur, etc., - the founding fathers of Harbor Lakes. You looked out for us then, Jack, and continued to do so years later, when we moved to live permanently in Harbor Lakes.
Thank you, Jack, for being instrumental in building such a caring, active, close-knit and thriving community in Harbor Lakes. We will miss your practical, no-nonsense advice, your cheeky jokes, the best Thanks Giving turkey we’ve ever tasted, watching you ride your bike to the pool even into your nineties, and your grit and determination to move forward no matter what. You never mentioned getting old or talked at length about ailments. You didn’t have time for that, as you always lived in the “now”. You were such a great example. How lucky we were to have you, dear friend.
Judy, John and Karen - our hearts go out to you and your families as you mourn your Dad’s sudden passing. We also send you all our love from across the miles.

We first met Jack when we bought a condo in Harbor Lakes in 2012. The couple we bought the condo from (Joe and Peggy Cionni), told us we had to meet Jack and Rita because they were the nicest people (and a lot of fun)! And they were right!! Jack took us under his wing immediately. Over the years, we've been to many parties at Jack's. He cooked a great corned beef and cabbage and his brats were fabulous. We've joined Jack, and his many friends, for Monday wings at Buffalo Chips, and Jack joined us many times for oysters at Rusty's. His love for Betty's coconut cream pie was something else, and she made it for him often, especially on birthdays and holidays. We've also gotten to know, and love, his immediate family. We wish his entire family heart-felt condolences on the loss of this dear man. We know if will be hard for them to adjust to life with Jack -- as it will be for us. Rest in peace, Jack, knowing you were loved and respected by many.

Jack,
Thank you for all your contributions and leadership of our beautiful community here in Harbor Lakes. You made the best cheese steaks and hosted so many wonderful get togethers over the years. I will miss our afternoon boys club meetings at the pool and your great stories.
Carol, Sue, and I send our condolences to your family and miss you dearly.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jacks passing. My first contact with Jack was at the first annual meeting of Harbor Lakes Association after we moved in. I spoke about the need for investing in landscaping as I thought it looked terrible. Jack took it personally and told me, "If you don't like it why don't you move". As everyone who got to know Jack, he was always very direct! Fast forward years, changes up and down to the pool house and landscaping and Jack and I became good friends. I gained respect for him as a caring and very kind man devoted to the betterment of Harbor Lakes.I loved his sense of humor and no frills way of speaking. I even got to share a "wings Monday" with him. We send our deep sympathy to the family for your loss. We share that loss with you/ Jim and Idelle Walton
