Obituary of Charles Checkum

Charles Checkum, 76, of Perkiomenville, PA passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, after enduring a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 3, 1941, the son of the late George and Jean (Livingston) Checkum. Charles has been living in Perkiomenville for 14 years, formerly of Doylestown. He was a history buff and Law & Order extraordinaire. He was a big Eagles fan even though he didn't like to admit it. Charles had a long career as an Information Technology Manager for various banks and institutions. Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years, Debbie Checkum of Perkiomenville; Son, Chuck Checkum (& Tarrah Quinn and daughter Victoria) of Philadelphia; Daughter, Isabelle (& Brian) DeMarco of Perkiomenville; Sister, Sherry (& Don) Morano of Marlton, NJ; Nieces, nephews, and his special grandpuppy, The Little Bandito. Along with his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Checkum and sister, Barbara Polsky. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 11:00 AM at the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 West Main Street, Trappe, PA 19426. Visitation for relatives and friends will be on Saturday morning from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Sunshine Foundation, 1041 Millcreek Dr., Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053, whose sole purpose is to answer the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children. Charles has been living in Perkiomenville for 14 years, formerly of Doylestown. He was a history buff and Law & Order extraordinnaire.
