Obituary of Floriana Bloss

Floriana Manno Bloss, 81, of Plymouth Meeting, PA died on Friday, July 22, 2016 after a long illness. Daughter of Floriano and Constance Manno, Floriana (Flo) was born on November 3, 1934 in Haverford, PA. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Bloss; daughters Connie Bloss of Hummelstown, PA; Linda Bloss-Baum (Richard) of Falls Church,VA; grandchildren Alexandra and Matthew Bloss-Baum; and sister Angela Hopes of Winter Park, FL. She was preceded in death by her brother, C. Nicholas Manno in 2006. Flo graduated with honors from Temple University in 1956 having majored in Political Science. She was President of the Magnet Senior Honor Society and Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. A longtime political leader, Flo was a devoted public servant in Montgomery County. She was first elected County Treasurer 1980-1988, County Commissioner 1988-1991 and Board of Assessment Appeals 1992-1998. During her career, Flo also served in several capacities on the Montgomery County Community College, Temple University Alumni and SEPTA boards. A celebration of Flo’s life will take place on Saturday, July 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1190 Valley Forge Rd, Norristown, PA 19403. Visitation will be from 9 – 11 AM immediately followed by a service at the church. All friends and family are welcome. Flo’s memory will live on in the Trinity Church Memorial Garden.
